Coastal Recycling are proud to be an organisation that encourages and supports the development of its staff not just in terms of career progression within Coastal but personal development too.

Sara Cox, Marketing Executive is the perfect illustration of this as she secures a 12 month contract to train, and learn alongside the Professional Game Match Official Team (PGMOT).

Having joined Coastal in November 2012 Sara had a drive and ambition not just to develop herself professionally at Coastal but also to develop her opportunities as a rugby referee.

Refereeing started as a hobby for Sara but she quickly realised it was getting serious when she became an International 7s and 15s referee. Not only that but she quickly became the UKs number 1 7s referee and the only dual International referee in the UK.

Sara says: “I’ve been so fortunate that Coastal Recycling have been so supportive and understanding with my refereeing work. Not only have they supported me in my professional development but they have gone above and beyond to support me in my personal development too. This has resulted in this amazing opportunity with PGMOT which could help me get one step closer to my goal of the Rio Olympics in 2016”

Richard Marsh, Business Development Director of Coastal Recycling said:

“Sara is such a great example and we hope, a positive story to other employers about how staff development is not just about development within the organisation itself but supporting and encouraging individuals to realise their own goals too. We’re all incredibly proud of what Sara has achieved and the dedication she has given to Coastal, we can’t wait to see her play a part in the Rio Olympics in 2016.”
