The mince pies have all gone and we’re sweeping up the last crumbs of Christmas. Don’t let your Christmas tree go to landfill – compost it! To help you out, here is your guide to recycling Christmas trees in Devon: 

  • Exeter – Recycling Centres in Exton Road (Marsh Barton) and Pinbrook Road (Pinhoe). Registered garden waste customers can use their brown wheelie bin
  • Torbay – Recycling Centre in Paignton.
  • Plymouth – Recycling Centres in Chelson Meadow (Plymstock) and Weston Mill (Plymouth)
  • East Devon – Recycling Centres in Knowle (Exmouth), Sutton Barton (Wilmington) and Sidmouth.
  • Teignbridge – Recycling Centre in Brunel Road (Newton Abbot). There are a number of sites around Teignbridge collecting Christmas trees for free. Check the county website for details here.
  • Mid Devon – Recycling Centres in Punchbowl (Crediton) and Ashely (Tiverton). Throughout January, Christmas trees with a maximum trunk diameter of 10cm can be left at kerbside on a blue caddy day.
  • Torridge – Recycling Centres in BidefordDeep Moor (Torrington) or Anvil Corner (Holsworthy). Residents with green wheelie bins can cut up their Christmas trees and recycle them in the fortnightly collection process.
  • South Hams – Recycling Centres in IvybridgeTorr Quarry (Kingsbridge) and Totnes
  • West Devon – Recycling Centre in Crowndale (Tavistock). Christmas trees can also be cut up and left in garden waste collections.
  • North Devon – Recycling Centres in BarnstapleIlfracombe and South Molton. Christmas trees can also be cut up and left in green wheelie bins.
