We love to get involved with community projects and the Coastal Community Fund has been created to provide key funding to local projects to help boost their impact in their local communities. In our most recent round of funding, we awarded £10,627 to Exeter Cricket Club for some much needed renovations.

Over the last two years there has been a huge transformation at Exeter CC. Redevelopment on the site of the old pavilion has provided opportunities for significant investment in new facilities to support cricket. Exeter CC has a new 30 year lease and has secured almost £1M in investment, the majority of which has been used to build a new pavilion. The funding from us was used to purchase essential, complimentary equipment – new sight screens, wicket covers, an electronic scoreboard and a slip cradle.

Julian Smith, a former 1st team captain and new Club Chairman, said:

This sort of investment has helped bring Exeter CC into the 21st Century and provide excellent facilities for junior and senior players. The electronic scoreboard has been a massive success; the new sight screens and mobile wicket covers are essential for top quality cricket at Exeter. Thank you Coastal.

We will be revisiting the Club when the season starts to see all the essential new equipment in action and will of course share some pictures.
